SPRING/SUMMER 2022 MEMBER ONLY PROGRAMS

ROCK CLIMBING BASICS (Virtual Event)

Wednesday, April 27th | 12 - 1 PM PST

Most rock climbers will tell you that they climb because they enjoy the physical and mental interaction with our natural world. Climbing can increase motivation, help fight depression, and assist us in dealing with the other challenges life brings. And like anything challenging, the rewards of completing a climb fuel a satisfaction in oneself unlike any other.

Have you always wanted to learn to rock climb outside? Do you want to know the answer to, “How do they get the rope up there?” Join Mark Allen, IFMGA Guide and Owner of The Mountain Bureau for this Outdoors@Amazon member-only event discussing the basics of outdoor rock climbing! During this presentation, you will learn about the sport of rock climbing, the gear we use to help us climb, and the training that you will need to get started. Mark will cover all of this while giving you a virtual tour of rock climbing destinations in Washington, the Western United States, and beyond.

This presentation is perfect for complete beginners, experienced indoor climbers, or anyone looking for new climbing destinations. Outdoors@ members joining this event will also learn about upcoming, exclusive in-person rock climbing courses presented by The Mountain Bureau.
