All venues listed in CUSTOM GUIDING we offer custom products at all levels. If our scheduled climb or ski trips will not fit your schedule or you wish to come solo or form your own group this is your ideal arrangement.

 

ALPINE MOUNTAINEERING ROUTES

Domestic-overnight trips on snow, glaciers, or rock scrambles that do not require technical roped climbing of a vertical nature. These routes are typically offered at a client to guide ratio of 1:1, up to 5:1 depending on route and conditions. (Example: Mt. Baker Easton Glacier, Glacier Peak, Kennedy Glacier)

TECHNICAL ALPINE ICE & ROCK SUPER-DAY

A Super-Day is prescribed when you request to condense a normal duration of the objective into a single push. This removes the need for an overnight in the mountains but will always require meeting the evening before for a gear check and prep. These are 12-24hr pushes that will focus on approaching, climbing, and descending the entire objective forgoing the use of bivi gear. This is a big-day for the client as well as the guide, but still requires the same amount of preparation and energy.

BACKCOUNTRY SKI & SPLITBOARD TOURING

All-Day OUT-AND-BACK SKI & SPLITBOARD TOURS (5-8hrs)

The Mountain Bureau offers custom backcountry ski and splitboard trips with objectives appropriate for novice and expert backcountry travelers alike. Skiers and riders should have at least one full season of inbound experience and should be able to comfortably link turns and enjoy black diamond runs in conditions including, deep powder, ice, and wind crusts. Skiers and riders should be comfortable spending extended periods outdoors engaged in moderate to intensive cardiovascular activity including a minimum of 2000 vertical feet of climbing. participants are expected to carry and be familiar with use of avalanche equipment (transceivers, probes, shovel). (Example: Snoqualmie Pass, Crystal Mountain Backcountry)
Note: Overnight Ski and Splitboard Tours will be priced using the “Alpine Mountaineering” rates.
