Attention all aspiring rock climbers! Outdoors@Amazon has worked with The Mountain Bureau, a Washington based guiding service, to offer a member only Introduction to Rock Climbing clinic. This in-person, single day clinic will take place in picturesque Frenchman Coulee (Vantage) in Central Washington.

The Introduction to Outdoor Rock Climbing Clinic is the first course in a series, designed to teach students to become independent single pitch and multi-pitch climbers. During this 8 hour clinic students will not only learn about climbing gear, knots, climbing techniques, and belaying. They will also learn about the etiquette, ethics, and situational awareness needed to climb in the natural environment around others. No previous climbing experience is needed to participate in this clinic. 

This clinic is perfect for the person, family, or group looking to experience the joys of climbing outside in a low-stress environment. This clinic is also the place to start for experienced indoor climbers who is looking to gain the basic knowledge and skills to become self sufficient outdoor climbers.

Itinerary

This 8 hour course, will begin at 8:00 AM at a pre-determined location, coordinated through email. After a full day of new skills, our day concludes with a traditional debrief to share our thoughts and progress for the day. Students should expect to depart at 4:00 PM.

PREREQUISITE EXPERIENCE OR SKILLS

No previous experience or skills are required for this course.

Minimum Age

Students 12-17 years old, accompanied by a parent or guardian.
